We resolve to treat our patients like we would want to be treated. Our dental office in Irvine, California, is designed to resound openness with big windows in the treatment rooms and to mesh with our beliefs to educate and express all options of solving your individual dental needs.
In our Irvine dental office we research and purchase the best quality materials and use the best labs we can find. Our dentist and dental team stay current with the latest innovations and techniques in dentistry by attending dental seminars on a regular basis and staying abreast with the best dental journals and texts.
We honestly believe implants are the future of dentistry, and we’ve seen the field grow immensely in the last two decades. The huge growth of resin technology (white filings) and CAD-CAM (computer generated restorations) has made this field exciting. In our Irvine dental office, we often have to remove defective old silver fillings because we find the side walls holding the filling are cracked, and once removed, we often find that the crack starts to run toward the center of the tooth (just like a crack on the windshield of your car). If we can catch it before the crack opens into the pulp (nerve), we can reinforce the tooth with a ceramic restoration and avoid root canal or, in some cases, extraction and implant placement.
Preventative care continues to be the main focus of care in our office for all the reasons it should: it works! Our whole Irvine dental office has taken courses in the treatment of sleep apnea with the use of an oral appliance that brings the lower jaw forward while one sleeps. This can be an alternative to CPAP, which is the only thing your physician can do for you if you have episodes of inadequate air flow (hypopnea) or cessation of breathing for 10 seconds or longer five times in one hour (apnea). Only a dentist can make this mandibular advancement device.
Our auxiliaries are highly-educated and very experienced, and always will be, because it does make a difference. Communication lines are always open between doctor and staff and all patients at Dr. Russell Cannon’s Irvine dental office.
